Web Directories

General Web Directories- what kind of directories are these? There are millions of directories that we can find in the World Wide Web. Some of these directories are specific in nature but most of the time, online surfers find its way to a majority of web directories that are general in nature. These directories are simply made so that these could cater to the different needs of the people. When directories are specific, the topics in these sites are very limited.

Some web directories however focus on a certain area of specialization. Some focuses on a particular language and even on a particular regional culture. Examples of these are topic focusing in a very specific field such as laptop computers in gadgetzhub.blogspot.com.

There have been many surveys and debates on how these directories found their way to the top of the search engines. They have various ways. They even used different techniques on how to gain popularity by simply linking visitors to these general web directories. Here are some of its ways:

Free Submission - there is no charge for review of the site, just like http://www.999pro.com (this one in particular is offering featured links and has his own affiliate program, where you can earn $20 for each sale you generate).

Reciprocal Link - the site submitted must link back to the directory in order to be listed.

Paid Submissions - a fee is charged for reviewing the submitted link

No Follow - there is a rel="nofollow" attribute associated with the link, meaning search engines will not follow the link.

Featured Link - the link is given a premium position in the category where it is submitted

Featured Homepage Link - the link may be listed on the homepage of the directory.

However there are other directories that have a very high requirement in terms of submission and linking on to their site. This depends sometimes on the rank of that page in the search engines.

When we are going to search the net for some important information on products, try to look for what you need in the general web directories.

General Web Directories

Some directories are very general in scope and list websites across a wide range of categories, regions and languages. But there is a wide range, and many focus on restricted regions and single languages. Some are restricted to specialist fields.Examples of well known, general, web directories are Yahoo! Directory and the Open Directory Project (DMOZ). DMOZ is significant due to its extensive categorization and large number of listings and its free availability for use by other directories and search engines (many sites violate its terms of use by using its content without acknowledgement).A debate over the quality of directories and databases continues, as search engines use ODP's content without real integration, and some experiment using clustering. There have been many attempts to make directory development easier, whether using a "links for all" type link submission site using a script, or any number of available PHP portals and programs. Recently, social software techniques have spawned new efforts of categorization, with Amazon.com adding tagging to their product pages.Directories have various types of listings, often dependant upon the price paid for inclusion:* Free Submission - there is no charge for review of the site, just like http://www.999pro.com ( this one in particular is offering featured links and has his own affiliate program , where you can earn $20 for each sale you generate.* Reciprocal Link - the site submitted must link back to the directory in order to be listed * Paid Submissions - a fee is charged for reviewing the submitted link* No Follow - there is a rel="nofollow" attribute associated with the link, meaning search engines will not follow the link. * Featured Link - the link is given a premium position in the category where it is submitted * Featured Homepage Link - the link may be listed on the homepage of the directory.[edit] Human-edited directoriesA human-edited directory is created and maintained by editors who add links based on the policies particular to that directory.Human-edited directories are often targeted by SEOs on the basis that links from reputable sources will improve rankings in the major search engines. Some directories may prevent search engines from rating a displayed link by using redirects, nofollow attributes, or other techniques. Many human-edited directories, including the Open Directory Project and the World Wide Web Virtual Library, are edited by volunteers, who are often experts in particular categories. These directories are sometimes criticized [1] due to long delays in approving submissions, or for rigid organizational structures and disputes among volunteer editors. In response to these criticisms, some volunteer-edited directories such as wikidweb and Chainki have adopted wiki technology, to allow broader community participation in editing the directory (at the risk of introducing lower-quality, less objective entries).

Finding A link Partner

Links are vital factors in web marketing. The search engines are always looking for links to your website. The search engines put higher importance to incoming links. What are incoming links? These are outside links from other websites. The links point out to your website. The search engines are after the quality of the links rather than its quantity. Quality links can dramatically boost your website’s rank and traffic. Aside from these, quality incoming links affect your website’s conversion rate, as well. One way of getting quality links – especially incoming links – is through link partners. How do you find the best link partners? How to Find The Best Link PartnersHow can you have the best link partners on the internet? It is significant that you link to quality websites only; otherwise, the linking won’t have any great positive effects on your website. Remember that the search engines look at the quality of the links not merely the quantity. Here are 5 tips to help you find the best link partners:• Write something interesting – most probably an article or resource that tackles an interesting and relevant topic or perhaps a website review. Allow other websites to use these reviews and online resources in their own websites as long as they give your website a link in exchange. These make these websites good link partners.• If you have a discussion board in your website, why not invite other websites that are closely related to your website’s theme or subject to participate in the discussion. You can opt to exchange links with these websites too.• Write articles about your field of expertise or something about the subject or theme of your website. The articles should contain a resource box that reveals some useful information about you, as the author, and about your website or online business. And of course, it should carry a link back to your website. These articles must be submitted to quality and high ranking article directories. • Aside from the article directories, you can also allow other websites and ezines to repost your articles as long as they include the resource box and a link back to your website. These websites and ezines are considered as part of your website’s link partners since they give your website a link back while you provide them with content.• If your website is a members-only website, you can attract other website owners and webmaster to link back to your website by giving them a privilege of getting a free membership. Since the word “Free” has a large impact on people, many webmasters will grab the opportunity. With these pointers in finding the best link partners, you can already start your link campaign now. These linking tips will help you arrive at only the best link partners. Waste no time…maximize the positive effects of the linking strategy; find the best link partners now.

The Power OF HTML Email Advertising And When To Use Text Email

The issue of HTML email versus text email usually raises heated debate amongst those involved in email advertising. For some people, feelings about HTML-formatted email have changed over time. However there are a number of issues that one should take into consideration before making a decision either for or against sending HTML email in their advertising campaign. It may show to be successful way of advertising, but then on the other hand it could be a pain to the ones on the receiving end.To start with, not everybody has the ability to receive HTML Email, which is a very important factor for anybody involved in email advertising to take note of. It is estimated that over 30 per cent of email users are not able to receive HTML Email. HTML may show up unreadable or in non-standard fonts, clashing colours, badly formatted images and sometimes there is no quick or easy way to adjust appearance to be read. However it is also a fact that this figure is reducing by the day.Still there is no denying the fact that HTML email will always get twice the response rate that text email would usually get, according to Email Marketing research. It is easy to see why this is so. With HTML email, full color graphics and even moving images and graphics can easily be created. These are usually much more attractive and can be powerful in drawing attention to a message. Also, according to research, it’s mentioned that text just can't do some of the things that HTML email marketing can, such as the ability to embed links into the email form itself.Yet despite this powerful statistic in support of HTML email, it is also true to say that most times, email users expect most of the HTML email messages they have received to be spam. Many notorious spammers have actually perfected the art of creating flashy HTML graphics to sell whatever it is they are trying to sell in their intrusive and illegal way. There are plenty of other reasons to favor plain text over HTML, such as band width waste and security exploits, but what it really comes down to is that like all other forms of information junk, there is more effort put into the font styling, rather than the actual email content.Choosing the right Marketing Company is often one of the biggest reasons a campaign fails or succeeds. It is also significant to note that there are some very successful marketers who use nothing else but text email in all their campaigns. They place all their focus on powerful words and directing people to their web sites and blog sites, where color and full HTML can be fully utilized to elaborate further on their advertising messages. The obvious advantage they enjoy is the fact that they do not need to worry about some recipients having turned off all HTML in incoming email messages, which many people often do to deal with the rising volumes of spam.

5 Ways to attract traffic

You have all the things needed to succeed in a business including the drive and determination to understand how it all works. You may even have all the right tools, as well as a unique and interesting website which could earn you a fortune. But all these things are useless if you do not know how to drive traffic to your site. Any online business will sink into oblivion without traffic to keep it going.

Getting people who matter to see your website is a difficult undertaking but it is made tougher when you consider the fact that there are rivals everywhere waiting to grab the attention of the very folks you want. The sheer magnitude of the internet has given birth to fierce competition. With all the websites piling on top of each other, how would one be able to stand out? If you are determined to stick it out with your business then you need ways to get visitors.

1. Search Engines

A large part of your traffic will come from these since that's how many people go about finding what their looking for online. Search engines like Google are a part of everyday life on the internet. Having top search engine rankings is vital in building popularity links, and the use of the right keywords is important in attaining this goal. Once a website is on top of the list, it is easily accessible to anyone who wants to see it for himself.

2. Contacting other webmasters for a possible link exchange.

Locating websites that are related to your own is the primary task. Once there, you should establish communication by personalizing everything as much as possible. By doing this you can increase the chances getting a reciprocal link. A side benefit of this is it can increase your rankings in the search engines based on the quality of the links and how many you have.

3. Writing your own articles.

Content is king and the internet is always in need of content. Writing articles is an effective way in promoting your business. A good article submitted to the many online article directories can build you a lot of backlinks as well as provide your readers with useful information which in turn gets them to click to your site.

4. Joint venture marketing.

This is not only an effective way of promoting a product or a service but also a terrific traffic generator. Having a partner through ad swap or link exchange is beneficial to both parties as it allows them to reach a wide customer base in a short amount of time. A joint giveaway or sale of any products you and your JV partner may own or have the resell rights to can also bring a lot of traffic

5. Affiliate programs.

Having your own affiliate program can create a powerful sales force. In addition to increasing your chances to make money tenfold, having an army of affiliates can also bring a flood of traffic to your website. A good affiliate program is a win-win situation.

There are of course many other traffic generating strategies including pay per click and the new phenomenon of social bookmarking. Use these methods to move your business forward. Once you get people to see what you have to offer on a regular basis then you know you're on the right track.

Onlines best buisness

We often receive e-mails about the best business online ever created and if we don't seize the opportunity right away we are basically not worth to be in the industry. Therefore, every single opportunity that we receive is the best business online. Many of us have actually believed such claims and tried some of these so called opportunities. If we want to look at the bright side we would say that the lost money is the price we are paying to gain more experience. Some would say that those claims were just hype.

The question that forces itself to be asked here would be; is there such a thing called the best business online? If so, what are the criteria that would make a business better than another, and therefore, what makes a business to be the best business online?

All questions will have to be answered only if the answer to the first question was positive. If the answer to the first question was negative then we don't need to bother about answering the remaining questions.

In short, I don't believe that there is such a thing as the best business online. Let's take a look at the offline marketplace. A good business idea depends on factors such as competition in the industry in question, market size...etc. But we don't see a huge industry in the offline marketplace that basically concentrates on building a downline. The offline marketplace concentrates on producing and selling products and services.

Business Online went astray from the concept and concentrated on building organizations of marketers without paying any attention to products and services. It went to the point that people are paying money for absolutely nothing. Business online should get back to the main track of producing and selling.

The beautiful thing about establishing a business online, is that you can create any business you want either with your own products/services or other people's. The trick in online business is visibility and how to make your target market find you without you having to spend a fortune. This is of course the quest of every person who has a business online, but it is not the purpose of this article.

Therefore, similar to the fact that the best business offline does not exist, the best business online is a myth. It is an illusion that will lead any one who is interested in creating a business online to fail before even starting.

All that has been said about the best business online should not be confused with business opportunities that exist in the online marketplace. Similar to the offline marketplace, the online marketplace is full of opportunities. The purpose of this article is to show that there is nothing called "The best business online," but it will be a huge mistake to interpret this article as trying to show that there are no opportunities in the online business marketplace. There are actually sites dedicated to helping people find the best business online that would suit their skills, needs, interests.

What we are trying to show in this article that there is no such thing as the best business online in absolute terms. Such a term is only used for hype and has no real substance in it. Therefore, so as to have an objective eye when studying opportunities online, try to classify those opportunities in the following manner:

1- A hyped message with a hyped opportunity 2- A hyped message with a sound opportunity 3- A sound message with hyped opportunity 4- A sound message with a sound opportunity

It is obvious that the advice would be not to even consider the first type. The second type is very tricky as you need to strip all the hype from the message to realize that the copywriter made a huge mistake by hyping the message while the opportunity is solid enough to sell itself.

The third business online type is also tricky, usually it is marketed by someone new in the online business, who is genuine but believed the hyped claims of the first type and now he/she is trying to market it.

The fourth is a business that we should consider seriously. I said consider and not jump into it because we need to study if it suits our skills, needs, aspirations, interests...etc.

Finally, the best business online does not exist in absolute terms. It becomes as such only if it fits you and you were able to reap its benefits because you have the skills to do so.

internet marketing made easy

If you have a struggling internet business, you are probably facing the difficult task of how to attract visitors to your website at a price you can afford. Indeed, internet marketing is a challenge, and it takes years of persistence. There are many affordable ways to get traffic to your site. For now, we will outline the most practical ways for you to market your online business without having to spend a great deal of money.

The most important task is search engine submission and optimization. There are many different search engines and directories on the internet where you can submit your web site. You need to sign up for a monthly submission plan with a credible search engine submission service. There are hundreds of these submission services on the internet; you can find them by doing a search on Google.

However, be wary of submission services that claim to be able to submit your site to 75,000 search engines. These unscrupulous submitters will submit your website to FFA pages and bogus link pages that can actually get you banned permanently from the search engines. You should only do business with submission services that submit only to the major search engines and directories.

Search engine optimization (SEO) is even more important. To optimize a site, you need to maximize your keyword density and optimize the positioning for the words or phrases for which you want to be listed. And, you need to use proper Meta tags so that the search engines can interpret your web pages.

If you do not know how to optimize your web site, you should search for an optimization consultant on Google. Avoid SEO experts who want to charge you $1,000 per month or more. Their goal is to bleed you dry before you figure out that they really can not help improve your ranking. Stick to providers who will optimize your site for a reasonable fee.

More important than SEO is link popularity. Link popularity is the number of web sites that currently link to your site. The more inbound links you acquire, the higher your search engine ranking will be.

There are several ways you can increase your number of inbound links. You can submit your site to free directories, or join a link exchange and trade links with other sites, or, you can author articles and press releases and submit them to article directories. When webmasters looking for free content place your article on their site, they must link back to your website.

If you are not patient enough to wait for your search engine ranking to improve, you can attract visitors to your web site right away by using pay-per-click (PPC). With PPC, you pay a certain cost per click to have an ad for your web page run at or near the top of the search engines. This can be extremely costly and ineffective. It is not uncommon for webmasters to blow thousands of dollars on PPC advertising and make only a few sales. The best way to promote your site, if you are actually selling something, is through an affiliate program. You need to provide an affiliate code to other online merchants so that they will place your banner on their site; every time you make a sale that resulted from an affiliate referral, the affiliate gets a commission. You will have to consult with an experienced programmer who can set up the program so that the affiliate codes can be tracked properly.

Some internet companies have thousands of affiliates, and get all the business they would ever need or want this way; and it costs you nothing. To recruit affiliates, you should submit your affiliate program to directories where you can list your affiliate program for free or for a small price. The best way to find affiliates is by listing your program on forums or message boards frequented by webmasters who are looking to generate additional revenue for their online business. I hope this information will help you with your internet marketing efforts. No website can become an overnight sensation; it takes time and effort. But, if you work diligently and follow each of the procedures outlined in the article, you should do fine.

Increasing page rank

Many people sees google pagerank as a measurement tool for viewing the importance of a specific website, even other big webmasters trust pagerank to be correct, but it cant be further from the truth.

For those how want an introduction to what Pagerank is.
PageRank is a numeric value that represents how important a page is on the web. Many are many aspects to consider when trying to get a higher pagerank, just to mention some of them, links to your website from others, onpage optimization, for how long your website has been online etc. its a fulltime job just trying to keep up with the adjustments made by google.

Many people sees google pagerank as a measurement tool for viewing the importance of a specific website, even other webmasters trust pagerank to be correct, but it can't be further from the truth. Google page rank has in the last year + more been very unstable, I have seen website going from a pagerank of 1 to 5 within a month, and some sites going from 8 to 2, even newly added website having quite high pageranks, without even having any traffic to their sites.

So why are people still using this pagerank as a trusted tool. well its quite simple, people still reads all the old articles on the internet saying, what a wonderfull tool it is, and people just got stuck in the old rutine, well get out of it and try to do some reasonable analysis on webpages.

Note:Other people tend to use a website called alexa to see the importance of a website, this website is actually quite effectiv, or it was, now I see alot of website get highly ranked there to, because they once or twice have bought some cheap traffic and then alexa has rated them based on their visiors amount.

Conclusion.
So if your using eighter google pagerank or alexa to analyze websites, do it with caution, be carefull not to only use these tools, be creative instead try other ways, you may even discover new alternatives others have never thought of. For example try to see what are the most used keywords for a speciffic subject, then see what website is shown first in both google, yahoo, msn and more.

Options for online promotion

An essential element of the success of any Internet Marketing campaign is the ability to master the art of online promotion. The are a number of techniques that the best Internet Marketing Strategies employ to jump-start Website promotion. These strategies include article marketing, blogging, search engine optimization and email marketing.

The most successful efforts use these techniques in a variety of combinations.

People opt for internet advertising methods because practically half of the world's population knows HTML. If you have your own business, you have to decide on what internet advertising method works for you. Ask yourself what are you going to avail of: the expensive internet advertising methods or the cheap ones? Others will pipe in "expensive!" immediately, but they don't know cheap internet advertising method attracts great benefits as well.

Here's the lowdown and a comparative look on the cheap and expensive internet advertising methods:

The Expensive:

1. Pop-ups. Not only is this expensive, but also outright annoying that visitors close pop-up windows without even bothering to know what they're all about. This is an internet advertising method that you can do without.

Fly ads are derivatives of pop-ups which are also equally irking to the visitors.

2. Pod casts.

Broadcast is to TV as pod cast is to internet. It's one sophisticated internet advertising method that can somehow hamper your budget. But if you're thinking results, pod casting is worth the money.

Did you know? - Blogs Can Jump-Start Your Online Promotion Efforts by Improving a Website's "Findability"

A Website that is positioned well on Google, MSN and Yahoo is has the potential to be a significant money-maker. The continued explosive growth of the Web makes this one of the hottest topics in Internet Marketing - how to be found?

Blogs increase your Website's findabiltiy. Blogs attract search engines and blog directories (through built-in notification features) and IF a blog is updated continually with new and fresh content, the blog and the sites that it links to will appear in search engine indexes more quickly than "traditional" Websites.

************************************

How does this one work? When someone types in a keyword related to your site, your URL is automatically included in the first page of the top results. Fixed payment for the search engine allows just that. Expensive, yes, but if we're talking about Google and Yahoo search engines here, then don't give it a second thought.

This is associated with another internet advertising method: the pay-per-click system.

The Cheap:

1. Blogging.

Go along the bandwagon and blog about your website. This is an internet advertising method that is popular as of the moment, so you never have to worry that this will never spur outcome. All you have to do is sign up for a blogging account, post and voila! You don't even need to pay!

2. Submit to not-so-big search engines.

This is cheap and dependable. If you submit your site to smaller search engines, you have bigger chances to get bigger results. Remember that the search engine giants can dwarf and overlook your site easily, so this internet advertising method might just be the right one for you.

3. Text links.

This is not just cheap...this is virtually free! Let someone text link your site and return the favor.

Cheap versus expensive, that's always the question that hounds on whenever we're trying to get something. In the field of internet advertising, just be wise enough to figure out what will suit your needs. Go for what you want as long as there are visible results.

1. A free video that showed them how to make a money making website in 4 simple steps.

2. A killer report that showed them how to create a powerful minisite in under 3 hours.

3. 11 days ecourse that showed them step by step how I start and promote my internet business.

4. Weekly newsletter with tips, tactics and articles that I write in internet business niche.

Once I had all these gifts ready, I combined them into a killer package and named it as...

Grab Murtuza Abbas's FREE 'Profit Pulling Minisites Pack' worth $97.

Give a price tag to your free package and tell your subscribers that they will get this package absolutely free if they signup in your list.

Create a killer box cover to demonstrate the entire package and individual graphics to demonstrate the individual gifts.

Create a squeeze page and include all these graphics out there. Include stong benefits that will pull the visitors in your follow up system like honey bees to grab your package.

Step 2 - Create a Killer Autoresponder System.

Make sure you create a killer autoresponder system and include all your packages out there in your instant email.

Fire your ecourse with every email going out with an interval of around 2 to 3 days each.

Make sure you also promote your package in your free gifts to drive sales from your subscribers.

There is a neat feature in most of the autoresponders where you can redirect your visitor to a specific page once they signup in your list.

You can either...

1. Present a one time discount offer for your product on this redirect page OR

2. Just forward them to your product salesletter.

One time offers work extremely well.

Step 3 - Promote Your Squeeze Page.

There are tons of ways you can use to promote your squeeze page. Here I will show you the fastest way to get traffic to your squeeze page and see results instantly...

1. Articles - Write and submit quality articles relating to your free package in article directories like ezinearticles.com and many others.

You can place a resource box right below your articles that will help you to direct visitors to your squeeze page.

Once you do this you will see instant traffic pouring into your website within 24 hours.

2. Discussion Forums - Hunt for quality forums in your niche and answer questions out there. You can place a signature that contains your ad if you make a good post.

This signature will include a FREE offer that will attract visitors to your squeeze page.

3. Co-Reg Services - You can signup with a co-reg service like leadfactory.com that will help you in building your subscriber base.

They will charge you 50 cents to 1 dollar for just 1 lead, therefore you have to track your product sales conversion ratio thoroughly before applying this tactic.

4. You can also use other paid traffic tactics like 'Google Adwords', pay per click search engines, ezine ads, etc to drive traffic to your squeeze page.

Just apply the above 3 steps and I am sure you will increase your subscriber base to few thousand subscribers this year.

Make sure you take action and get started today.

Successful Buisness online

When you think you are ready to start your own internet business online, think about how much time and effort you are willing to put into it and if you are thinking, zero investment and zero work past the initial signing up, then you do not need a business, you need a job. There are numerous opportunities to have your own internet business online and with some of them, you may even make a little money, provided you can have a few visitors at your virtual front door.

Typically, though many of the opportunities will offer to hook you up with a web site containing everything you need to begin making money online. You sign up, probably pay a small fee to get started and in many cases agree to a monthly fee that amounts to a franchise fee. You consider this a cost of doing business and besides the business owner is a multi miillionaire and has introduced you to others that are as well on their way to independent wealth and promised it will happen to you as well.

You go ahead, enter your credit card numbers, then sit back and wait for the money to come rolling in. The first month or maybe two go by and you still have not seen any income from your investment. You may start thinking scam or thief and begin looking for the information about the money back guarantee when you come across a previously ignored suggestion that you promote your site so people can find it and start doing business with you.

You will need to spend some time letting other people know about your internet business or chances are the following months are going to have the same results of no visitors and no sales. It is probably there in the large print about internet marketing and how to make it work for you. Just like traditional businesses, if people do not know you exist, your chances of success does not exist. Look at some of the internet business online success stories and then look at their sites and start looking into their advertising.

Some is paid for while some is free through blogs or other forms of self promotion such as newsletters and informational ezines. It is very possible for you to come up with a similar program to help raise your business into the realm of the currently successful ones. To sit and daydream of becoming rich by doing nothing will not do you any good and promising to pay debts based on promises of riches will soon turn into a nightmare. Take the information you receive from successful business and turn it to your advantage. Use it to help promote your site and use it to help you make money. After all, that is what you paid for.

Getting rich online

In the real world, there are two ways to earn money. Either you will work for a boss, or be your own boss.

Working for a boss entails employment of some nature, in an establishment that has some need for the services you could provide. Being your own boss entails having your own business and facilitating the production of some goods or the distribution of some services.

Either way, you will earn your keep (or at least, you should). It is the basic law of making money, you have to give or render something to receive something in return.

When it comes to making money online, it's the same principle at work. You have to give or render something to receive something in return.

And yes, you could work for a boss, or you could be your own boss. The opportunities are there in the World Wide Web. The choice is yours.

The first question in your mind, most probably, is this: could I really earn a living online?

The answer to that question is an emphatic "yes!" But let me explain, dear friend. I am not referring to some ordinary opportunities that would reward you with measly earnings that won't even be enough to purchase a bus ticket to the zoo. Oh, most definitely not.

I am talking about REAL opportunities that would help you earn REAL money in the World Wide Web. The things you will learn in this article will make you realize that the virtual world is just as profitable, if not more lucrative, than offline ventures.

Based on my experience, it is more profitable to have your own business on the internet.

Case in point: I personally know 34 people who live comfortable lives by working for someone else via the communication channels that the internet has made possible, but I also personally know around 200 people who have made it big online without having to work as much as those who have decided to render their services for hire. By "big," I mean big time big! I'm talking about a yearly gross in the high six digits, if not over the magical 7 digit barrier! And I'm just talking about the people I "personally" know, people I have befriended and people I have mentored at some point. What more the people outside my circle, right?

But first, we must cover the basics.

Tell me, what's the common thing that can be observed in any business?

The answer, of course, is that you have to sell something. What you will be able to sell would be your bread and butter. It will be the source of your profits. You can't earn if you can't offer anything for a particular market.

You may offer them some goods or some services which they would need or want. This is related to the driving principle of the commercial world: the law of supply in demand. This principle is quite easy to understand. The lower the supply, the higher the demand.

This is the lesson I want you to learn: you can't make money from the real world without delivering something, be it some goods or some services. And you can't make money from the internet without delivering something as well. It's the basic business model at work.

Using what we have discussed so far as basis, we could formulate an outline for your online business plan, one which would allow you to cover the basic concepts and advance to more complicated ones. Here are the things you have to learn, eventually:

1. How to find a profitable market. 2. The different types of products you could sell. 3. How to create your own information product. 4. How to create unconventional products that can be digitally delivered. 5. How to come up with products without having to go through the process of creation. 6. How to build your own digital store. 7. The basics of search engine optimization. 8. The basics of article marketing. 9. The basics of forum marketing. 10. How to make a blog work for your business. 11. How to price your product. 12. How to employ novel packaging techniques to make your product highly sellable. 13. Cross-selling and back-selling items for sustainable profit.

I am not exaggerating when I tell you that you'd be able to earn an amount that might rival and even surpass what you earn from your day job. The Internet, after all, has always been a secret breeding ground for millionaires.

Master the basics we have enumerated above and you will be able to realize the extreme profitability an online moneymaking opportunity can truly offer.

Why Links Are So Important by Terry Detty

In recent times many webmasters and blog owners have suffered a lot of anxiety as search engines have adjusted and changed their rules all too frequently. Every time they do this, the ranking of various web sites in the search engine marketing world changes. Imagine waking up one morning to find that the traffic to your main revenue-generating site has suddenly dried up? On closer examination you identify "the culprit" - your site has virtually disappeared from it's high search engine rankings perch. You can be sure that if there is a nightmare that most webmasters wake up from sweating and shaking in horror, then this one has to be it. Search Engine Basics Of Relying On Links Have Never Changed However in all the constant and regular changes we have seen, there is one thing that has never changed. We are of course referring to one way links pointing at a site. If anything they seem to be getting increasingly important as far as search engines are concerned. Search engines consider them to be the ultimate vote of confidence on a site's importance. Web Links are the key fundamental thing that ultimately decide the ranking of a site in any search engine results. Meaning that if a site endeavors to constantly build up on its' one way links, the webmaster or site owner need never have the nightmare of all their traffic suddenly disappearing or being wiped out because of some change in rules at some leading search engine. Links Generate More Valuable Traffic Than What You Get From Search Engines There is nothing that is as valuable as links pointing at your site from other relevant or related topic sites and blogs. The traffic generated from such links will tend to be much more targeted than any traffic you receive from search engines. In other words, the value of good, relevant links goes beyond search engine rankings and with the correct strategy on links, it will not matter too much what leading search engines do when you have a growing number of links generating healthy traffic to your site.

Market without a website

Time and time again, internet marketers have claimed that to do business in the World Wide Web, you'd need your own website. Your own website, they say, is your headquarters in cyberspace. It's your very own digital store where you could lead potential customers and where you offer the products you have for sale.

Though it's true that having your own website can greatly aid you in your quest to achieve success in the online field, a website is not the end all and be all of internet salesmanship, particularly in the line of affiliate marketing. Yes, you could make a living online as an affiliate even if you do not have the benefit of your own website!

How is this possible? How can this be done? Read on, dear friend, as we discuss alternative strategies that will allows you to make the most out of your affiliate marketing campaigns without having your own webpage on the net.

Affiliate marketing is a program whereby the affiliate can earn some generous commissions for every successful sale they manage to refer to the affiliate merchant. The affiliate's task is merely to pre-sell the affiliate merchant's goods. The sales page, the payment processing, the digital delivery, and post sales services shall be the responsibilities of the affiliate merchant.

The affiliate only has to refer people to the affiliate merchant's sales page. This can be done by making people click on the affiliate links exclusively provided for the affiliate. Now, these affiliate links are very important. They are like the markers for the affiliate program. They will tell the system that a visitor was actually referred by the appropriate affiliate.

Marketing the affiliate merchant's goods without the benefit of a website entails marketing the affiliate links in a variety of channels that would serve the affiliate in lieu of a website of his own. This can be done through the following techniques:

Article marketing. We all know how powerful affiliate marketing can be in link building campaigns. But instead of providing for links to your own website, you could provide your affiliate links instead. Article directories allow you a resource box per submission, where you could tell your readers about yourself as well as leave a link of your choice. Now, you have to remember that some article directories do not allow affiliate links in the bodies of the articles themselves, but affiliate links are perfectly allowed in the resource box.

Forum marketing. Online communities, or forums, are likewise great channels where you could promote your affiliate links. Membership in PHP2.0 based forums gives you a signature box where you could advertise your links. Use this to advertise your affiliate links. For every post you will make, your signature box would appear. Post a thousand messages, and you'll have a thousand pages advertising your affiliate links! Want to know the forums which are relevant to the subject serviced by the affiliate products you're promoting?

Advertise in ezines. This may cost you some cash, as many ezines charge for advertising space. Nonetheless, you could expose your affiliate links to highly targeted prospects using this approach. Imagine if the ezine has a list of 10,000 people. You'd immediately be able to reach 10,000 quality leads with one advertisement. Again, you don't need a website. Simply use your affiliate link in your ads.

The absence of your own website is never a bar to online success. Most of the strategies we have discussed here can be accomplished without spending a single cent. If you do not have the financial resources to register a domain or to subscribe to a web hosting service, you could still achieve success with affiliate marketing. Joining an affiliate program is free. Promoting your affiliate links can likewise be availed of without any charges.

Pulling online consumers to your trap

What are the qualities of a well written article?

It must build your profile as an expert. The article reflects its writer. Just like your website, articles are your alter ego. They must be well written to show your expertise in whatever niche you are writing about.

Articles must also be able to draw traffic to your site. The popularity of your site and the products or services you are offering depends on the amount of web traffic you are getting.

It must also help you to get a database of potential customers through email courses or a newsletter. Once your site becomes familiar, you can then make connections with other sites to further increase your web traffic.

Anyone can write an article. You know the basics: an introduction, content, and ending statements, proper grammar and correct spelling. You can also hire writers to produce more articles that can be published into the many article directories on the web.

But can you attract your readers and make them say "Yes" on the things that you are offering? Can you get them to click that link below the article in your resource box?

In article writing, it is important that your readers are first on your list. Give them what they want. Your job is to turn them into long-term customers and not just one-time visitors. Think of what they want to know, not what you want to tell them.

Try these tips:

1. What are the interests of your readers? If you are specializing for instance in identity theft then provide articles talking about the many different types of identity theft scams, the cost to individuals and business and how the reader can protect themselves. If you lack the necessary information then do extensive research. Logging on to different forums to get relevant details is a good start.

2. An attention grabbing title and introduction. Take your time with this. Make it interesting; something that will lure them to keep reading Try to make it as if you are speaking to just one person. You naturally want as many people as possible to read your article but make each reader feel that you are addressing him or her face to face.

3. Include in the contents all things that should be included. Readers need facts, details, tips, and strategies, so include it. However, make your style of writing in conversational and relaxed. Although your readers want that information, they also look forward for some entertainment-type of article. Make it worth reading.

4. Do not lose the excitement as the article is about to end. This is a major problem with many writers. Make sure that excitement lives on to the close of your article. If you like, include some humor. Getting readers to smile or laugh will pay off nicely in the long run.

More than advertising the purpose of article writing is to inform your readers. How can you tell if your readers are saying yes to you? When they click the link going to your website and go from one time readers to potential long term customers.

being an expert in online buisness

Today, I'm going to share a very useful tip with you: Why you need to brand yourself as the expert and the go-to-guy in your niche, and how you can do just that.

It is very crucial that you position yourself as the expert in your niche simply because when people view you as an expert, they'll go to you once they have any questions in mind or if they want to consult you.

Once these people regard you as the expert, they're very likely to heed your advice. There is a high chance when you recommend affiliate products, they'll be eager to buy.

It's like when you go to the doctor when you were sick. The last time you were ill with a high fever, where did you go for consultation. Your local doctor right? Why did you go there? Well, I sure bet it's because you view him as the expert when it comes to treating your fever (or any other illness) right?

So, the same concept applies to affiliate marketing. Heck, they apply to everything: every industry and every market you can think of.

As an affiliate marketer, you want to always strive to be the expert in your niche. When people look up to you and trust you, recommending affiliate products become so much easier.

To achieve expert status in your niche, there are a few things you can do:

1. Always provide quality content for your readers on a consistent basis.

You can do this through your website, blog, or newsletters. Feed them with tips and the latest updates twice every month. If you can, once every week is even better.

2. Write good, information-rich articles and submit them to article directories.

Remember to include a resource box at the end of the article. In this box write a little about yourself and what your expertise is, then include your website URL. This is where you brand yourself to the potential millions of people searching for information you've provided. If you don't want to go through the hassle of submitting to the thousands of article directory, here's a secret weapon you can use to submit to thousands of directories all at once with the click of a button.

3. Write your newsletters, articles, reports and ebooks with AUTHORITY.

Be confident. When you write your content, also make sure it is free of grammatical and spelling mistakes. Also make sure your writing style is easy to understand and follow. Writing in conversational-style english works best. Unless your niche is teaching English, I don't see the need to write in formal, vocabulary-rich style.

4. Provide free consultation to your readers if they have any problems they can't fix.

Of course if you have a very huge list of subsribers, then you might want to limit the number of consultations. After you've helped them solve their problems, you could ask their permission to publish their stories for other readers to learn. These real case studies would provide fresh content to your newsletter as well.

One important point I want to stress is: becoming an expert in your niche takes time, effort, dedication, and experience. Nobody becomes an expert overnight. It's a cumulative process. So start your branding NOW. Not today or tomorrow, but NOW.

buisnessmen's common mistakes

Although it is the perfect business for many people, making money with online affiliate marketing programs online can be almost impossible unless you avoid the hard learned mistakes others have already made. All the knowledge you gain as an affiliate marketer is an investment toward building your commission checks and success as an affiliate marketer.

Do not be afraid to spend time learning new tips and strategies to drive your business forward. Purchase and read E-books and read articles, newsletters and forums. Remember, no matter what you are selling, your main business is that of affiliate marketing and you will do best learning as much as you can about how to succeed with it.

The affiliate marketing industry changes almost daily and the marketers who stay on top of these new techniques know what works before others do, and profit bigger and faster because of it.

If you are not seeing the results you want, and do not know what else to try, the reason is probably a lack of knowledge. It is also important to read Internet marketing forums and ask questions. Find things that have worked for others and adapt those strategies to your own business. Do what works best for you and you will go far.

One of the biggest mistakes that a beginner affiliate makes is spreading themselves out to thin. They constantly jump from one so-called opportunity to another hoping it will make them rich fast.

They never get the ball rolling in any one direction and always come up short. To succeed in affiliate marketing, one must strive to make something work for them until at least a good amount of time and effort has been put in, to see if the affiliate program, or product, or other type of scheme is really worth the effort.

Now, it is important to diversify. When you diversify online, you move to work on another opportunity when what you are working on is already bringing you results. If you develop websites to sell skin care products, and you make consistent sales, then you might consider developing your efforts in another niche market, such as weight loss, for even bigger profits.

This is called building multiple income streams.

Instead however, many beginner affiliates try to promote all types of different products without focusing on one at a time. A beginner should choose a product in one niche market, learn that product inside out and sell it well, and move onto the next while taking the skills learned to make money even faster.

Once you can sell one type of product well, you will know what works the next time around. You will have residual income coming in from your first product promotions, and can start to build on that with sales from the new product.

Again, spend some time learning about what works in affiliate marketing. Whether you are a complete beginner trying to earn your first paycheck online, or are a seasoned marketer, there is always something to improve. As you hone your selling and copywriting skills, use them to make even more sales.

If at first you do not see results, try to keep working toward your goal with one affiliate program or product at a time. The first sale is the hardest one to make but it is worth it once you get there.

Affiliate marketing is not a get rich quick scheme but like any other legitimate business, it takes time and effort to see consistent results.

Also once your affiliate business is on the rise, pay even more attention to it! Avoid getting lazy thinking it will improve by itself because most of the time, it wont. Write more articles, and attract more traffic and links and your websites will stay on top.

Another mistake affiliates make that ties closely with this idea of building, is that they get lazy. A seasoned affiliate knows that once success starts to show with a promotion, you must double, or even triple your efforts!

Definitely stay proactive with your selling! You will make more money because success builds on success and you will now believe you can do even better! Use this motivation to build new websites and bring in even more traffic and sales, and you will see your affiliate income grow each week.

Forever adsense

Google, being the undisputable leader in search engines from then until now, is placing a high importance on the quality and relevancy of its search engines. Most especially now that the company is public property. In order to keep the shareholders and users of its engines happy, the quality of the returned results are given extreme importance.

For this same reason, doing the wrong things in the Adsense and other forms of advertisements, whether intentionally or unintentionally, will result in a severe penalty, may get you banned and even have your account terminated. Nothing like a good action taken to keep wrongdoers from doing the same things over again.

So for those who are thinking of getting a career in Adsense, do not just think of the strategies you will be using to generate more earnings. Consider some things first before you actually get involved.

Hidden texts. Filling your advertisement page with texts to small to read, has the same color as the background and using css for the sole purpose of loading them with rich keywords content and copy will earn you a penalty award that is given to those who are hiding links.

Page cloaking. There is a common practice of using browser or bot sniffers to serve the bots of a different page other than the page your visitors will see. Loading a page with a bot that a human user will never see is a definite no-no. This is tricking them to click on something that you want but they may not want to go to.

Multiple submissions. Submitting multiple copies of your domain and pages is another thing to stay away from. For example, trying to submit a URL of an Adsense as two separate URL's is the same as inviting trouble and even termination. Likewise, this is a reason to avoid auto submitters for those who are receiving submissions. Better check first if your domain is submitted already an a certain search engine before you try to submit to it again. If you see it there, then move on. No point contemplating whether to try and submit there again.

Link farms. Be wary of who and what are you linking your Adsense to. The search engines know that you cannot control your links in. But you can certainly control what you link to. Link farming has always been a rotten apple in the eyes of search engines, especially Google. That is reason enough to try and avoid them. Having a link higher than 100 on a single page will classify you as a link farm so try and not to make them higher than that.

Page rank for sale. If you have been online for quite some time, you will notice that there are some sites selling their PR links or trading them with other sites. If you are doing this, expect a ban anytime in the future. It is okay to sell ads or gain the link. But doing it on direct advertisement of your page rank is a way to get on search engines bad side.

Doorways. This is similar to cloaking pages. The common practice of a page loaded with choice keyword ads aimed at redirecting visitors to another "user-friendly" page is a big issue among search engines. There are many seo firms offering this kind of services. Now that you know what they actually are, try to avoid them at all costs.

Multiple domains having the same content. In case you are not aware of it, search engines look at domains IP's, registry dates and many others. Having multiple domains having the same exact content is not something you can hide from them. The same goes with content multiplied many times on separate pages, sub domains and forwarding multiple domains to the same content.

Many of the above techniques apply to most search engines and is not entirely for Google only. By having a mind set that you are building your Adsense together with your pages for the human users and not for bots, you can be assured of the great things for your ads and sites.

Not to mention avoiding the wrath of the search engines and getting your Adsense and site account terminated altogether.

how to make advertizers find you

The internet is the information highway, this phrase has been used so may times it should be nominated for the Internet Clich Award. People that go to the internet are subdivided into groups, but generally, they are out to search information. Whether for gaming, business, fun or anything else the internet has provided us with information that has proved to be very beneficial.

Through the recent years many people have learned the secrets of Search Engine Optimization. More and more sites have seen the effects articles have done for the traffic of their sites. Some have even created sites devoted entirely to providing articles that could be read by their website visitors and have links that could lead to many sites that are related to the topics and subjects of the articles.

For example, the sites may feature many articles about a whole lot of topics. As a website visitor reads the articles they have searched for, they can find at the end of the article a resource box that can be clicked on to link them to the site that has submitted the article. Of course the article would be in relation to the site. Lets say if the article is about rotating the tires, the resource box may lead to a link to a site that sells tires or car parts.

A resource box is what you usually find at the end of an article. They will contain the name of the author, a brief description of the author, a brief description of the sponsoring site and a link. If a reader likes what they read, they would have the tendency to find out where the article came from to read more. The resource bow will be their link to the source of the article and this will entice them to go to the site and do some more reading or research for the subject or topic they are interested in.

But like the article itself, the resource box must also be eye-catching to demand the attention and interest of the reader. While the resource bow encompasses only a small space, providing the right keywords and content for your resource box will provide more prodding for the reader to go to your site.

Now we know what resource boxes are, what are the benefits of having a good resource box? Mainly its driving traffic to your site. Many sites would allow articles to be placed in their sites because they can make use of the articles to fill their pages. They also get affiliation with other sites that can be beneficial for them as well. For the sponsoring site, when you get people to click on your resource box, you generate traffic that can be counted upon as potential customers.

So what would be a good content for your resource box? Basically it is keywords, learning about the proper keywords that people are mainly searching for. There are many tools you can find in the internet that can help you in determining what keywords to use.

Resource boxes can also make use of all the creativity it can get. You only get a small space for your resource box so you better make the most of it. Try to catch the attention of your reader with resource box content that can make them give a second look. Unlike TV ads, you don't have visual aids to drive your point in. But you do have the power of imagination of a reader. With the right content, you can make them think and intrigued.

Another tip is to use keywords that should be related to your site. Do not mislead your potential website visitors. Build your credibility so that more people would get enticed to visit your site and browse what you have to offer. Make the people click your resource box by providing resource box content that makes a lasting impression. You only get one chance to wow them and hundreds of chances to repulse them.

Never underestimate the power of the resource box. It may be small in size but they will provide a significant aid in driving traffic to your site. A boring resource box will never get a job done. Be fun and creative but at the same time show that you have a great deal to offer, too much to ask for something that couldn't fit a paragraph? Yes and no, there are many tips and guides that can help you in doing this, the first step is realizing how important a resource box could be in making people click your link and be directed to your site.

Miking the most of your online promotion

It may sound obvious, but if you are looking to make money online, or to make even more money via the net, it is important to make sure you are getting the highest possible amount from every sale you send. The payment variations between the programs you choose can mean the difference between a successful online marketing career, and a frustrating waste of time and effort.

The differences in affiliate programs' payouts can be immense. Some pay a tiny percentage and will not credit you with further sales, from while others pay commissions in the hundreds of dollars for a single sale, and credit you with any further purchases from the customers you send to them. Generating quality traffic is not easy, so why push those hard earned visitors towards sponsors that will only pay you a few dollars per sale?

Contrary to the old business cliché, in internet marketing, "what you know" is very important indeed. Finding those amazing opportunities is not easy. It's a competitive market, and when marketers strike a golden niche, they are going to keep quiet about it. So how do you find the high paying niche products? Yes you can check around industry forums, hoping for a generous soul to give up the goods, but it's not very likely to happen. The good news is there are affiliate membership sites designed to inform you on the latest, most profitable opportunities. Successful affiliate marketing is dependant on 3 factors:

1. The market potential - The size of the market, the competition and the quality of the offering 2. The profit potential - What is the cost per sale? What is your commission? 3. The support you receive to promote the product.

There is a site that addresses these factors head on. www.MakingYouRicher.com (MYR) has been produced by a team of e-commerce professionals to guide affiliate marketers towards some of the most profitable products to promote on the net. MYR Membership comes with a guide to creating sites that sell, and how to profit from just about any niche. Its members' area is updated with highly profitable offerings as they find them, and they supply all the tools required to get started. The products they find can pay as much as $175 for a single sale, and with free website templates and professionally written content, you do not need to be an expert in the niche to get started. MYR's reputation is impressive, with some of their members making up to US $80k per month in commission. promoting your new softwares

Discover How To Promote New Software Products by Karl S. Smith

These are all extra methods to get traffic to your new software. They might not be so commonly used but have a lot of benefits. They can boost the popularity of your software in no time. Some can even drive a ton of sales almost overnight. These work with any type of software product.

Pad file submission

One of the fastest method to get traffic to your new software is by submitting it to the hundreds of software directories. You need to create the so called PAD file. You can find free tools online that will help you make this pad file.

They allow pad file submissions so if you update your software information you simple update your pad file instead of re submitting your software again.

The pad file, which ends in .xml instead of .com or .html is what you submit to these so called software directories. There are semi automated tools that will help you in the submission process.

If you software is not shareware or freeware, you won't be able to submit cause they only allow shareware or freeware types. Though you can create a demo and submit the demo. The benefits include the extra traffic from all these directories and also the backlinks you get. Most often they let you list your home page along with download link of your software.

Some hot directories like download.com, tucows.com might not be free but every other directory allows submission for free.

Joint Ventures JV

There are many newsletters online and some have plenty of subscribers that read every issue. Your objective is to create a special offer and email the newsletter owners related to your niche. Ask them for a joint venture.

If the newsletter owner accepts he will send an email advertising your software product to his list. In return he earns a percentage of each sale. Both parties benefits. Making JV's is a very hot tool to get sales fast. Nowadays you can find forums that where members co operate with each other to make JV's.

If you take JV's serious and plan to find as many JV partners as possible you might want to obtain some JV tools like JV manager to help you manage everything. Such tools already exist.

You can find plenty of newsletters on any niche using google.com search engine.

Create affiliate program

First of all there is the benefit of gaining popularity quickly on the Internet. Your affiliates might also create sites and place links to your own increasing the backlinks for your site. Since backlinks increase even your search engine rankings. Clickbank allows creating and maintaining your affiliate program a breeze.

Marketers that are looking for a free affiliate program might search Clickbank and join yours if you do register with clickbank. That is a great benefit.

The more popular your software product becomes more exposure and one way links you start receiving. One way to do that is to create an affiliate product and give a good percentage of the sale to your affiliates. At least over 50%.

Blogging

This may sound too easy but if done right you can generate sales from your blog as well. Reviewing your product and recommending it is one of the best methods to sell your product.

Since you are the owner, you may want to hire someone from scriptlance.com and he creates and maintains the blog. The objective is to let users know how much you love the software. Why you found it useful? Talk about it as if talking to a friend, then recommend it in the end.

When doing so, you should also add other posts relating to the type of software you are selling. That way the blog has also other useful information. If the software is related to golf, you may need to create some posts first that talk about golf instructions or golf lessons. Then post the review. There is no need to create 20 - 30 posts though!

That method was proven to work. People love to purchase the product if someone else suggested or recommended.

Creating ebooks

You are the owner of the software so you know the most about it. So you can also create an ebook and talk about its features. The idea is to give away the ebook that contains a link to your site. Give it free from your site, or write articles and place a link where people can download it free. Forum signatures also generate some traffic.

Give resell rights to the ebook so people can give it to their friends. One other method that works is selling your ebook on ebay.com. Many people visit ebay every day so you get a lot of exposure to your ebook which later guides people to your site.

The idea is to spread the ebook so every one that reads the useful information will also click on the link that directs him to your software sales page or site.

Newsletter

Let visitors of your site download your ebook or optin for a newsletter. This way they will see your site url and possible click to visit it more often. You won't loose any customers this way. If they don't purchase they might subscribe and purchase later on.

This method also works very well. Let them know in your messages about your software either by providing a signature or creating messages explaining the use of your software.

Press release

This will generate backlinks and traffic but only if you right a great story about your new software. It is advised to learn how to write a proper press release first so it won't can declined. Then you can submit it to major directories like prweb, prloop and hundreds more.

This causes popularity of your software to improve. Press releases are also used to promote websites not just a new hot product. Some other recommended places that do get lots of traffic are craiglist.com which allows you to post a classified ad. Myspace.com allows you to create groups.

Creating a group around your niche on myspace helps you to get exposure and even sales since there are plenty of members and traffic on that social site.

Doing that right means you post useful information, questions and tips and tricks. Not just advertising your domain cause that won't help at all.

Following the advice and you will see lots of traffic, sales and even higher rankings in search engines. These are methods you can use now that you have your own product. With a little time every method can be accomplished without too much effort.

everyday promotion

Website promotion only works if you promote your site on a regular basis. So how about promoting your website every day? Read how, below.

Day 1 - Submit Your Site To A Search Engine

Okay, okay there are no big surprises with this promotion method.

Search engines still represent the best way to get traffic to your site, day after day after day. But which search engines are the most important?

Answer: Google, MSN Search, Yahoo! Search.

The good news is that you don't have to submit your site to Google at all as it prefers to find your site. The bad news is that it can only find your site if another site (already listed on Google) is linking to your site. So you need to build some incoming links to your site straight away. (Learn how to build incoming links in Day 3.)

It is also important that your pages are optimised for the search engines. You'll find an up-to-date list of the major search engines and directories at StrongestLinks.com .

Day 2 - Write An Article

You've probably heard of article marketing, and know that writing articles is a great way to do two important things: 1) build incoming links to your website 2) establish your expertise

So, how do you write articles? Well, you can learn by reading other articles; or you can visit an article directory and read articles about writing articles; or you can buy a book about writing articles. It's up to you. Writing articles is not difficult, especially if you follow these basic guidelines:

* Know what you are trying to achieve in writing your article and know who your target audience is

* Brainstorm the content using an article-writing formula like a 'Top 10 Formula' or a FAQ formula

* Know what your outcome is and create an author resource box that makes that outcome happen.

There are many article writing formulas and you might even come up with your own. The main thing is to work out a method of writing good quality articles, quickly.

After that, you either post your article on your website or you let others do the same by submitting your article to the major article directories. EzineArticles.com is one such directory.

Day 3 - Build Incoming Links To Your Site

Links make the Net go around; they are what make the internet great! Links also make your website useful to your site visitor (a well-maintained, and useful, links page can in itself make a website worth re-visiting again and again).

One way of achieving lots of links to your site is to swap links with other sites. The best way to do this is to:

- Identify sites with similar content to yours - Send a personal email to the webmaster suggesting that both your sites could benefit from a reciprocal link - Develop a useful "Resources" page and put those links on this page. Personally speaking, I don't respond to reciprocal link requests when my link is simply going to join hundreds of others, often not related. I don't think Google thinks too highly of such links pages, either.

A much better strategy is to try and build incoming links to your site only. Writing articles is one way of doing this and so is using Web 2.0 sites like MySpace (see below).

Day 4 - Write A Press Release

What's better than advertising in a publication? Answer: having your business feature in an article in that publication.

So here are the basic steps of writing a press release:

=> Press Release Checklist

1) Have a story to tell 2) Think like a journalist 3) Format the press release properly 4) Keep your press release short! 5) Promote your press release online

Above all, keep it short.

Obviously there is a little more to it than that. Do a search for how to write a press release to learn more.

Day 5 - Use Web 2.0 Sites Like MySpace, Squidoo and Digg

Whilst it will always be important to rank well on Google, the website promotion rules are slowly changing. Now it's important to know about social media optimization and not just search engine optimization to get visitors to your website.

For example, here are three websites that *can* help you promote your website and thus help you promote your business, online:

1) YouTube 2) Digg.com 3) Del.icio.us

The above sites are known as social networking sites or social bookmarking sites or even social media sites. Whatever they are known as, the most important thing about these types of sites (and these three sites in particular) is that they are some of the most visited websites in the world. And, they allow you to link to your site, one way.

However, putting content that links to your website on these social media sites and then getting exposure to that content is, effectively, the art of social media optimization. Again, do a search to learn more.

Day 6 - Create New Content

It may come as a surprise to you, but search engines such as Google 'like' sites that get constantly updated. Think of news websites like The BBC or CNN, or think of social bookmarking sites like Digg.com or even del.icio.us - they all do very well when it comes to being 'valued' by the search engines. The reason? Well, the search engines believe that sites that change every hour are more 'important' than related sites that change every month. You would too, don't you think! So, how does this help you? Well, you need to consider creating new content for your site as regularly as possible to try and recreate this 'valued' factor with the search engines. Whether you add new articles to your site, or new product listings or even new content like videos, you want to get into the habit of adding new content to your site on a regular basis. Do this every day if possible.

Day 7 - Test, Test, Test

Hey! You may have nothing to do today. It all depends on how well you have been doing the above activities. And the only way to find that out is to measure results, or to test.

How to test?

Log your activities and then find the answers to the following types of questions: 1) Is your site appearing on the search engines? Do a search on Google, say, for site:www.yoursitenamehere.com This will list all of the pages of your site that appear on Google. 2) How many inbound links to your site exist on a particular search engine? Again, major search engines provide tools to allow you to determine this.

3) Has your press release been published? Check the magazines it's likely to appear in, on a regular basis. It's a great feeling when you see your website in print! :-) Some press release services can provide much fuller online stats, too. 4) How many of your articles have been published elsewhere? Good article sites give you stats like this, or you can set up a Google Alert for certain words that appear in your article (do a search, if you don't know what a Google Alert is).

5) Is your website getting more visitors? A good website statistics package should be provided by your web host, but you can buy an independent package should you require more accuracy. Etc.

Seriously, online, the winners are those who test.

--

There you have it. Several ways of promoting your site every day. Try and do 'something' every day if you can, and your site will receive more visitors over time. If a daily schedule is too difficult then promote your site every week, instead.

promote buisness on links

The question of whether or not MySpace can be used to promote a business is certainly debatable. MySpace is intended to be a non-commercial website by nature but there is a different between blatant commercialization and mentioning a product or service you offer and providing a link as a useful resource to visitors of your website. This article will take a look at the opportunities to promote a business on MySpace by providing information on determining whether or not your method of business promotion is permitted on MySpace and information on how to promote your business without being accused of spamming MySpace.

Review the Terms of Service Carefully

The terms of service provided by MySpace can provide the greatest insight into whether or not there are ways to promote your business through MySpace. Members of MySpace are asked to review the terms of service before becoming a member. Each member should carefully read through this entire agreement to come to a better understanding of which types of activities are allowed on MySpace as well as which types of activities are prohibited.

One of the stipulations of the MySpace reads as follows, "Non-commercial Use by Members. The MySpace Services are for the personal use of Members only and may not be used in connection with any commercial endeavors except those that are specifically endorsed or approved by MySpace.com. Illegal and/or unauthorized use of the MySpace Services, including collecting usernames and/or email addresses of Members by electronic or other means for the purpose of sending unsolicited email or unauthorized framing of or linking to the MySpace Website is prohibited. Commercial advertisements, affiliate links, and other forms of solicitation may be removed from Member profiles without notice and may result in termination of Membership privileges. Appropriate legal action will be taken for any illegal or unauthorized use of the MySpace Services."

This section of the terms of service stipulates that MySpace is created for non-commercial use unless Myspace.com has approved the use of a member's website for commercial purposes. Therefore care should be taken when designing a MySpace website to ensure the website will not be deemed to be a commercial website by MySpace administrators.

When In Doubt, Ask Questions

Those who are unsure of whether or not their MySpace website, as they have designed it, will be considered a commercial website should consult with MySpace administrators. This step is not necessary unless the member is concerned their content will be perceived as being commercial. Reviewing the terms of use agreement can provide a great deal of information but some users may still be concerned with the possibility that their website will be penalized if the administrators deem it to be commercial in nature.

Contacting MySpace is a fairly simple process. Members can use the, "Contact MySpace" link from the MySpace.com homepage. The contact page enables members to select a subject and a subtopic and submit this information. Once this is done MySpace provides some preliminary information which may be relevant. If this information is not useful to the member they can email a detailed request to MySpace.

Avoid Spamming at All Costs

If you determine there is an opportunity for you to promote your business through MySpace, care should be taken to ensure the promotion does not cross the line into spam. Spamming is taken very seriously by the MySpace administrators and it may result in links or content being deleted or the privileges of membership may be revoked when a member is found to be guilty of spamming.

Links to your ecommerce website integrated into your MySpace website isn't considered spamming. Depending on how it is used it may not even be considered advertising, and therefore prohibited, by MySpace administrators. However, visiting other MySpace websites and placing a link to your ecommerce website on each website you visit would be considered spam. These individuals may or may not be interested in the website you provide but even if they are interested sending these links to numerous websites unsolicited is often considered to be spam.
